In an unprecedented move to end the war on spam and to increase cybersecurity, President Obama announced this morning the appointment of Paula Pollock, CEO of the Pollock Marketing Group to be the Electronic Communication Czar. With companies as large as Google experiencing increased international conflict online, this position has become a necessary addition to the President’s fleet of Czars. Ms. Pollock will work closely with Robert Gates, Secretary of Defense and Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security on matters of significant online security. “This is an unfortunate, but important security move that I didn’t anticipate when I invented the Internet,” said former Vice President Al Gore. “Ms. Pollock has been an outspoken advocate against spam and is the perfect choice for the appointment.” At press time, we could not reach Ms. Pollock. She did however Tweet a 140 character response to this reporter, “I am honored and will do everything within my power to eradicate unwelcomed invasions of U.S. citizen’s personal computers without censoring reasonable enjoyment.” Upon the announcement by President Obama, her office was protested by Spam Moderates, who believe any use of the word Spam to describe unwanted electronic communications is demeaning to their beloved canned meat product. As a show of solidarity, Ms. Pollock invited the opposition leaders to a lunch of Spam musubi to discuss their views. April Fools.
