| When Did You Last Give Your Warm Leads a Warm Cookie? |
|
We are becoming a sugar-free, fat-free, anything-but-production free race. It's no wonderwe're all grouchy. We have few real leaders, we're under-paid, over-worked, Be The Cookie Bearer - We spend too much time trying to craft messages today with clever phrases, keywords for search engines, calls-to-action, etc. Our world today is moving at an amazing pace no matter who you are or what you do. To receive an unexpected gift or kind gesture is karma that deserves acknowledgment. When the gesture is genuine, rarely does the recipient accept the gift without elevating the giver to some preferred status and passes the karma on. Your cookie doesn't need to be costly. It only needs to be sincere. Care - Karma has an amazing way of coming about. Your gift could merely be to listen to a prospect that you realize is not quite ready for your prices or process and give a few kind suggestions in a positive direction. You can provide benevolent information on topics that help others do what you do without effort. Caring has a way of coming back to you. As woo-woo as it sounds, whatever you want to receive you must give first. Be A Person - If Facebook has proven nothing else, we are still people. We like to connect with our friends even when we are busy working. We like to play silly games. We like to share. These are indicators for businesses everywhere, especially those who think they are B2B. You cannot sell to a company. You can only connect with a person who has the ability to influence that company. They are still people. Stop writing online as your product (unless that's your shtick.) Be real - have feelings - make mistakes. This was prompted by only a single day's solid experimentation of staying present and resisting nothing - even a few grumpy people. I unsolicitedly received a small gift from a friend (not anywhere near my birthday), two shoulder massages from my husband as I typed this post (which rarely happens) and numerous, pleasant exchanges with total strangers who gave me as much I as was giving to them. People are drawn to positive and non-resistive people, even behind your lead nurturing and written word. Be sure to get yourself in the right place before you plan your strategy and write. It will serve you in the long run.
Speaking of Warm Cookies!!! My latest freebie is almost complete. I'm compiling a list of the most noted errors businesses make in their lead nurturing. More Soon!

over-weight...yada yada. No one except unemployed protestors seems to be venting. What if a stranger came up to you and gave you a warm, delicious cookie - just walked up to you and gave you this gift of comfort and decadence? How would that make you feel? You would probably be surprised, grateful and think very kindly of that person for changing your perspective.
